Rethinking Trauma
Restoring Wholeness
Why it lives in the body
and why expression is the missing piece
Trauma-Informed Artist of the Soul
Nurse (RN, BSN) · Artist · Educator
Most conversations around trauma focus on the mind.
Or on managing symptoms.
Shelley brings a different perspective.
She teaches that trauma is not just something to understand—
it is something carried in the body.
A fragmentation of the self.
A kind of soul fracture.
And healing is not found in control—
but in reconnection.

Her work invites a new conversation:
Expression as the missing piece in women’s healing
SIGNATURE KEYNOTES
✧ 1. The Hidden Impact of Women’s Trauma on the Body
Why so many women feel disconnected—and what’s actually happening beneath the surface
This talk gives language to what women are feeling but often cannot explain. Shelley reveals how trauma is carried in the body, how it shows up in everyday life, and why so many women feel disconnected despite “doing the work.” Audiences leave with clarity, validation, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
✧ 2. Trauma as a Soul Fracture
Understanding trauma as fragmentation—and how healing happens through reconnection
Shelley introduces a powerful reframe: trauma as a fragmentation of the self. This keynote explores how the body, story, and inner knowing become disconnected—and how healing begins by bringing these parts back into relationship. This message is both deeply grounding and profoundly transformative.
✧ 3. Expression: The Missing Piece in Women’s Health and Healing
Why insight alone isn’t enough—and how the body releases what it’s been holding
Many women understand their story, but still feel stuck in it. This talk reveals why talking and thinking alone cannot fully heal trauma—and why expression is essential. Shelley introduces a new approach that allows what has been held in the body to finally move, shift, and release.
✧ 4. From Disconnection to Wholeness
A Christ-centered, embodied path to healing the body, the story, and the Spirit
This keynote weaves together faith, the body, and healing in a way that feels both grounded and deeply spiritual. Shelley guides audiences into a new understanding of what it means to return to wholeness—not just intellectually, but in a way that can be felt.
ABOUT SHELLEY
Shelley Henk is a Trauma-Informed Artist of the Soul, nurse (RN, BSN), artist, and educator with over 26 years in healthcare. After losing her father to suicide, her own body began to carry the weight of unprocessed grief and trauma that neither the medical nor spiritual systems could fully address.
This led her to turn inward—to her inner knowing and the Kingdom within—where she rediscovered creative expression as essential to her healing. What emerged was Artful Storywork™, a body-based, expressive process now used to guide women out of suppression and into wholeness.
Today, Shelley is a leading voice in rethinking women’s trauma—helping audiences understand how it lives in the body and how healing happens through expression.
