RESTORATION ART COMMISSIONS

Your story, held in paint.

Original abstract expressionist paintings created from stories of love, loss, memory, change, and becoming. You bring me the story. I listen for what mattered—the memories, words, places, symbols, and fragments worth holding. Then, layer by layer, I create an original work of Restoration Art honoring what was, what remains, and what is still becoming.

Restoration doesn't erase the story.

It gives the story somewhere beautiful to live.

A commission may honor a person you've loved, a relationship, a meaningful place, a season you've lived through, or a chapter of your life you want remembered.

Each work is created through my elemental process:

EARTH holds. · WATER moves. · WIND stirs. · FIRE transforms.

The finished work becomes a witness to a life.

Small · from $497
Medium · from $997
Large · from $1,997

Each commission begins with a private Story Conversation.

Shelley Henk

Abstract Expressionist · Restoration Artist

Shelley Henk creates layered mixed-media paintings exploring grief, memory, restoration, and the beauty of what remains.

An artist and registered nurse with more than 25 years in health and wellness, her work is shaped by a lifetime of witnessing love, loss, healing, and the stories we carry.

Grief is the base layer.

Through raw texture, natural materials, fragments, and layered marks, Shelley creates work that honors what has been without trying to erase it.

Her work returns to one enduring question:

What will you create with the life still in your hands?

I especially like keeping “Your story, held in paint” here even though we changed the homepage to “create a work from it.” On the commission page, held in paint is poetic and tells the collector exactly why this is different from simply ordering a custom painting.
