Rite of Passage Painting
An Artful Storywork™
Consecrated Threshold in Nature
There are seasons in a woman’s life that cannot be solved.
They must be crossed.
“The tears could not stop flowing as I was being ministered to and painting my picture. My heart was opened. I cannot explain or describe the feeling of restoration and healing that I feel.”
— KD, Motivational Speaker
The Artful Storywork™ Rite of Passage is a small-circle, consecrated wilderness crossing for women who know survival strength has reached its limit — and a new season must be embodied.
Not a workshop.
Not a retreat.
Not art therapy.
A marked transition.
Eight women gather.
When the circle is complete, it is sealed.
No Art Skills Needed. This is a right of passage not a Picasso
There comes a moment when what once sustained you begins to constrain you.
The competence.
The endurance.
The quiet carrying.
It brought you here.
But it cannot take you further.
You sense:
An ending that has not been named.
Grief that has not been witnessed.
Authority that has not been inhabited.
A deeper identity pressing forward.
Insight is no longer enough.
You need a crossing.
Not every woman will feel this.
But the ones who do, know.
A Biblical Pattern of Crossing
In Scripture, thresholds were never casual.
The Jordan was crossed on dry ground.
Altars were built in wilderness places.
Names were changed when identity shifted.
God’s people marked transition physically.
The body moved.
The land bore witness.
The crossing was remembered.
The Artful Storywork™ Rite of Passage follows this ancient pattern.
Through guided painting as prayer, you will:
Unearth what survival concealed.
Reconcile story in union with Christ.
Consecrate the crossing in embodied form.
We do not paint to create art.
We paint to build an altar of remembrance.
What is marked becomes covenant.
The Land as Witness
Ceremonies are held outdoors — most often at Turkey Run State Park (Indiana).
Forest canopy.
Stone ravines.
Moving water.
Wilderness strips away performance.
It tells the truth.
The land is not aesthetic.
It is witness.
The Day of Crossing
You will enter a steady, Spirit-led container shaped by:
• Grounded theological teaching
• Trauma-aware facilitation
• Guided painting as embodied prayer
• Silence and reflection
• Structured integration
• A formal act of consecration
No artistic skill required.
No spectacle.
No emotional manipulation.
No forced vulnerability.
This is not catharsis.
It is covenantal crossing.
“The tears could not stop flowing as I was being ministered to and painting my picture. My heart was opened. I cannot explain or describe the feeling of restoration and healing that I feel.”

The Four Crossings
Each ceremony aligns with one movement of the Four Elements of Wholeness™:
FEEL — Crossing into embodied safety
HEAL — Crossing into redeemed story
DREAM — Crossing into restored vision
CREATE — Crossing into consecrated authority
Each stands alone.
Each holds only eight women.
Each marks a real movement from one season into another.
We paint because the body remembers what the mind avoids.
Color, movement, and image allow truth to surface gently — without forcing language.
Painting slows you down.
It anchors insight in the body.
It marks transition in a way words alone cannot.
